Hopi Ear Candling |
Hopi Ear Candling is the modern version
of the Ancient Native American Hopi Indian practice of placing tall,
hollow beeswax and linen candles into the ear and lighting the distant
end to draw impurities, wax and other waste particles out
of the ears, whilst at the same time bathing the inner
ear and nasopharyngeal (nose and throat) passages with essential oil
vapours. The Hopi tribe believed that the warm vapours drew out evil
spirits and negative thoughts prior to going into battle. |
A gentle massage of the head and ear area after the candling is the luxurious and indulgent conclusion to the treatment. |
The ear candles are made from organic linen, drenched in natural beeswax infused with a variety of essential plant oils. The oils will bathe, soothe, calm and disinfect the ear canal and the nasal passages. People find tremendous relieve from congested sinuses, blocked nasal passages and even relief from sore throats and coughs. Many people remark on improved clarity of hearing following an ear candling treatment. |
Although immediate benefit is often felt from one treatment, It is recommended that having three treatments on three consecutive days or one or two days apart, is a most effective progressive program. The first candling will often warm and soften impacted ear wax, allowing it to move along the ear canal, but it might not make it all the way out with the first treatment. It is often subsequent treatments which will effectively remove this wax if it has been buried deeply inside the ear canal. |
